FIB UNDIP – The Faculty of Humanities Diponegoro University (FIB Undip) held a Soft Skill Training activity entitled “Good to Great” for prospective graduates of the 180th period on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at the FIB Undip Art Center Building.

This activity is part of the faculty’s efforts to prepare graduates to be ready to face the world of work and professional life with superior, adaptive, and characterful abilities.

Briefing Before Tripping The Professional World

The briefing was officially opened by the Dean of FIB Undip, Prof. Dr. Alamsyah, M.Hum., who in his speech delivered an inspirational message for prospective graduates.

“Hopefully this soft skill briefing is useful and becomes a valuable provision for the future after graduating from FIB Undip. Tomorrow you will be officially graduated by Diponegoro University, and today is the first step to step on the real world,” said Prof. Alamsyah.

He also emphasized the importance of a balance between academic competence and non-technical skills (soft skills) such as communication, leadership, teamwork, and self-confidence.

Learning from Practitioners: “Mas Imsyak” from Radio Idola FM

This activity presents Imam Syakur, or better known as Mas Imsyak from Radio Idola FM Semarang, as the main speaker. With a light and communicative delivery style, Mas Imsyak shares his experience and practical tips on how to change himself from someone who is “good enough” to be “extraordinary” according to the theme “Good to Great”.

In the interactive session, he highlighted the importance of building a positive mindset, public speaking skills, and consistency in self-development.

“Success is not about who is the smartest, but who is the most willing to learn and dare to take the opportunity,” said Mas Imsyak, greeted enthusiastically by the participants.

He also encourages graduates not to be afraid to face challenges in the world of work, and continue to bring the humanities values that have been taught during their studies at FIB Undip.

“FIB graduates have extraordinary social sensitivity and communication skills. The key is how to hone it to make it more powerful,” he added.

From Good to Great: The New Spirit of FIB Undip Graduates

This briefing is not only a briefing event, but also a reflection space for prospective graduates to look at the future with a new spirit. Through activities like this, FIB Undip wants to ensure that every graduate is not only academically ready, but also has a mature personality and strong interpersonal skills.

The activity took place with enthusiasm, closed with an interactive question and answer session. The graduates admitted that they were motivated by the material delivered and hoped to be able to apply it in real life after graduation.

With the spirit of “Good to Great”, the prospective graduates of FIB Undip are ready to step into the world of work and society, bringing cultural values, ethics, and professionalism that are the hallmarks of graduates of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences of Diponegoro University.
