In order to welcome the holy month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 1446 H, Diponegoro University (UNDIP) has issued policies regarding lectures and working hours for the academic community. These policies aim to provide comfort during fasting and ensure the smooth running of academic and administrative processes on campus.

Based on the official announcement from Diponegoro University, there are several provisions that must be observed regarding UNDIP’s lecture schedule leading up to the Eid al-Fitr holiday:

1. Online Lectures Before the Eid Holiday

Lectures from March 24 to 27, 2025, will be conducted online to help students and faculty adjust to preparations for the upcoming holiday.

2. Flexible Lectures on March 28, 2025

On March 28, 2025, lectures can be conducted online based on an agreement between the faculty and students. This is due to the date being a joint leave day, not a religious holiday.

3. Faculty Provisions During Online Lectures

As per the applicable regulations, faculty members will continue to perform their duties according to employment rules, even though lectures are held online.

4. Midterm Exams (UTS) Held Offline

Midterm Exams (UTS) will be conducted offline, except for graduate or professional programs that have implemented a hybrid learning system. The exams are scheduled to take place from April 8 to 17, 2025.

These policies are expected to provide flexibility for students and faculty while maintaining academic productivity before and after Eid al-Fitr.

In addition to adjustments in lectures, UNDIP has also adjusted the working hours for employees during the month of Ramadan, in accordance with the Circular Letter of the Secretary General of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Number 5 of 2025.

  1. Working Hours for Units with 5 Working Days

    • Monday – Thursday: 08:00 AM – 03:00 PM WIB (break: 12:00 PM – 12:30 PM)
    • Friday: 08:00 AM – 03:30 PM WIB (break: 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM)
  2. Working Hours for Units with 6 Working Days

    • Monday – Thursday and Saturday: 08:00 AM – 02:00 PM WIB (break: 12:00 PM – 12:30 PM)
    • Friday: 08:00 AM – 02:00 PM WIB (break: 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM)
  3. Effective Working Hours

    During the month of Ramadan, the minimum effective working hours will be 32.5 hours per week.

  4. Guaranteeing Productivity and Public Service

    Heads of Units are expected to ensure that the implementation of working hours during Ramadan does not reduce work productivity, employee performance, or the smooth operation of academic and administrative services on campus.

Support from the Dean of FIB UNDIP

In response to this policy, the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities (FIB) UNDIP, Prof. Dr. Alamsyah, M.Hum., expressed his support for the university’s actions. According to him, the flexibility in lectures before Eid al-Fitr and the adjustment of working hours during Ramadan are a reflection of UNDIP’s commitment to supporting a balance between academic activities and worship.

With this policy, UNDIP aims to maintain academic quality, improve the well-being of students and faculty, and create a conducive learning environment during the month of Ramadan and the celebration of Eid al-Fitr 1446 H.
