Faculty of Humanities (FIB) at Diponegoro University (Undip) welcomed an academic visit from Professor Noriko Hiraishi, Ph.D., an expert in Comparative Literature from the University of Tsukuba, Malaysia, on March 13, 2025. This visit aimed to support research and explore potential academic collaborations between FIB Undip and the University of Tsukuba.

Purpose of the Visit and Potential Collaboration

During her visit, Professor Hiraishi conducted research by interviewing a graduate of FIB Undip. Additionally, she discussed the possibility of further academic contributions, such as:

  • Visiting Professor: Teaching or delivering guest lectures at FIB Undip.
  • Joint Research: Collaborative research between Undip faculty and the University of Tsukuba.
  • Public Lectures: Sharing academic insights with FIB Undip students.
  • Official Cooperation: Exploring the potential signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) or Cooperation Agreement (PKS) between FIB Undip and the University of Tsukuba in Japan.

Professor Hiraishi expressed her interest in returning to Undip in the near future to continue more intensive academic collaboration.

Activities During the Visit

In addition to conducting research and collaboration discussions, Professor Hiraishi also participated in a class taught by Budi Mulyadi, S.Pd., M.Hum., a lecturer from the Japanese Language and Culture Study Program (BKJ) at FIB Undip. Her presence in the class provided students with a valuable opportunity to gain insights directly from an international academic.
