Faculty of Humanities, Diponegoro University (FIB Undip), once again presents an international-level academic event through its Visiting Professor Program. This time, the chosen theme is highly relevant to contemporary social issues:
“Literature and Feminism: Why Are Hegemony and Discrimination Still So Strong?”
The event, held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at 10:00 AM (WIB) until completion, features Dr. Soe Tjen Marching who currently teaches at The School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London.
Why Literature and Feminism?
This theme was chosen because literature has long served as a medium that not only reflects life but also acts as a tool for critiquing social inequality, including issues of patriarchal hegemony and gender discrimination. Through a feminist lens, literature becomes a voice for the unheard and a space for reflection to challenge existing power structures.
