AREA OF EXPERTISE/RESEARCH INTEREST OF LECTURER

My area of expertise is Literary Genres. I selected this when in 2018 Sandra Bettencourt said, “It is a pleasure to welcome a new literary genre.” Those words inspired meto research the genealogy of Indonesian Literature all across time. The existence of a genealogical trace that is also affected by the acceleration of technological development creates a field where literature is born as ideological creatures. Literary works have unique traits based on their narrative and semiotic category, to be later placed upon a taxonomic hierarchy. This hierarchy is called Jengkar Sastra. With the presence of Jengkar Sastra, the possibility of new literary genres emerging gains space to be continuously nurtured and developed, much like a tree with fibrous roots that persistently expands its branching movements.
