The Indonesian Language for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) Program at the Faculty of Humanities (FIB) of Diponegoro University (UNDIP) participated in the International Sharing Session organized by the Nahdlatul Ulama Islamic University (UNISNU) Jepara. This event was part of the “BEST UNISNU: BJP English Skill Training” program, which took place on February 25-26, 2025, at the d’Season Premiere Hotel in Jepara.

The International Sharing Session aimed to serve as a platform for cultural exchange among foreign students currently studying in Indonesia. During the session, participants shared their experiences in adapting to local culture and the challenges they faced while studying in Indonesia.

The Head of the BIPA Program at FIB UNDIP, Laura Andri RM, S.S., M.A., revealed that six foreign students from the BIPA Program at FIB UNDIP participated in the event.

  3. Michalina Gralak (Poland)
  4. Maher Ahmed Mohammed Nasr (Yemen)
  5. Sumayya Kabir Dandago (Nigeria)
  6. Kautanamwakin Teakirakee Tokataake (Kiribati)

In addition to the foreign students from FIB UNDIP, the event was also attended by foreign students from Semarang State University (UNNES) and UNISNU Jepara. Their presence provided diverse perspectives on cross-cultural experiences in the academic environment in Indonesia.

During the discussion session, the students shared their experiences of adapting to life in Indonesia, particularly at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences at UNDIP. They discussed how they dealt with language differences, social customs, and the education system in Indonesia. This discussion became an important moment in understanding how cultural interactions can enrich their academic and social experiences.
