Semarang – Faculty of Humanities (FIB) of Diponegoro University once again demonstrates its commitment to cultural preservation through collaboration with the Dharma Wanita FIB Undip. On Wednesday, February 26, 2025, FIB Undip held a Working Meeting of Dharma Wanita FIB Undip, attended by the Dean of FIB, Prof. Dr. Alamsyah, S.S., M.Hum., the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Eta Farmacelia Nurulhady, S.S., M.Hu m., M.A., Ph.D., the community service team, Dr. Dra. Siti Maziyah, M.Hum., and Dr. Dra. Sri Indrahti M.Hum., along with participants from the Dharma Wanita FIB Undip.

In his speech, Prof. Dr. Alamsyah, S.S., M.Hum. expressed his appreciation for the dedication that has been established so far. He also shared information about the collaboration between the community service team and Dharma Wanita FIB Undip in organizing a batik training session. “I hope this activity can strengthen our unity and contribute to the preservation of culture,” he said.
After the opening remarks, the event continued with batik training held in the FIB Undip lobby. The participants were taught batik techniques directly by a batik expert, Mrs. Iin Windhi Indah Tjahjani, the owner of Sanggar Cinta Batik Semarang or Batik Pak Eko. In this training, participants made batik on tote bags using an electric stove to heat the batik wax before applying the batik motifs.

The purpose of this training was not only to introduce batik techniques to Dharma Wanita FIB Undip but also to strengthen cultural collaboration within the academic environment. Through this activity, it is hoped that more parties will be involved in preserving Indonesia’s cultural heritage.
