FIB UNDIP – The Department of Linguistics of the Faculty of Humanities, Diponegoro University (FIB undip) officially opened a large-scale international summer course titled DipSCORLING 2026 (Diponegoro Summer Course in Corpus Linguistics).
This event that focuses on language analysis was officially opened on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 by the Dean of FIB Undip, Prof. Dr. Alamsyah, M.Hum., through the virtual meeting room on zoom. This Summer Course becomes a global collaboration space that brings together leading instructors from various linguistic backgrounds in the world.
Direct Practice of Dissecting Language Data with the Latest Method
In this digital era, understanding language is no longer just reading text, but processing data. Through DipSCORLING, participants are invited to dive into the complex linguistic world of the corpus using the latest tools and methodologies.
The main approach of this course is hands-on learning. Starting from the stage of data collection, analysis, to interpretation, the participants are trained to navigate extensive language data independently. This provides a new insight into how a language works and is actually practiced.
Uniting Cross Professions on a Global Scale
Interestingly, this international agenda has speakers from various universities, such as Dr. Peter Crosthwaite from The University of Queensland, Gede Primahadi Wijaya Rajeg, Ph.D., from Udayana University, Karlina Denistia, Ph.D., from Sebelas Maret University, and Prihantoro, Ph.D., from FIB Undip.
Through this interactive activity, FIB Undip not only enriches cross-cultural understanding of language diversity, but also strengthens its position as a pioneer in advancing research, education, and global linguistic innovation.
