The Department of Literature FIB Undip Successfully Held an International Lecture at UGC 2026 with the Theme “Major Figures and Works of Indonesian Literature”

FIB UNDIP – The Literature Department of the Faculty of Humanities, Diponegoro University (FIB Undip) successfully held the prestigious annual program, Undip Global Classroom (UGC) 2026. Carrying the theme “Major Figures and Works of Indonesian Literature”, this academic activity is specially designed to enrich the perspective of students in understanding the dynamics and great figures of Indonesian literature in the eyes of the world.

The event that takes place on Friday, May 29, 2026, at 13.00–16.00 Western Indonesia Time will be held online through the Microsoft Teams platform.

Presenting Three Cross-Country Experts

Without responsibility, the Department of Literature presents three leading international experts and academics who thoroughly explore the treasures of Indonesian literature from various points of view:

  1. Dr. Suryadi from Leiden University, Netherlands.
  2. Prof. Dr. Pamella Allen from Tasmania University, Australia.
  3. Assistant. Prof. Dr. Bambang SM Said from Southern University College, Malaysia.

The presence of these three speakers provides new insights for students about how local literary works are transformed, appreciated, and studied by global institutions.

Bridging Culture, Enriching Thoughts

This public lecture is not only a formal study room, but also a real implementation of the activity slogan, “Bridging Cultures, Enriching Minds”.

Through this international agenda, the Department of Literature FIB Undip continues to be committed to expanding the global network as well as strengthening the competence of students to be able to appreciate Indonesian literature with a broader thinking horizon.
